 Jack Kelly Sonnet

Of all the boys he has the greatest dream;

To be out west and live off of the land.

Next to his home there will run a small stream,

And the sunsets out there will be so grand.

He's as loyal as a newsboy can come,

And the first to stick up for you always.

Even the Delancys, however dumb,

Must look up to him as long as he stays.

The guys are so jealous as the girls swoon

Just seeing him walking down the alley.

I hope he doesn't leave any time soon,

For to many girls hearts he holds the key.

Every girl hopes he thinks she is quite fair

As every girl wants to bear him an heir!

 David Jacobs Sonnet

He's always the brains and never the brawn

Of the Newsboys schemes and plots for respect.

Though never did he expect that he'd be drawn

Into such a venture and dialect.

True he was the good schoolboy to dad

But now he has got to fight for whats fair

With the newsboys against those truly bad

Businessmen and politics each a bear.

He didn't really think he could do it

But they all had tremendous faith in Dave.

So thus he combines a handshake with spit

And gained the confidence that he did crave.

In the end he helped them to seize the day,

And maybe perhaps helped get Jack to stay.
